Would it be ok to download them into my computer again or would they maybe be infected with the virus, whatever, that caused me to put them on a disc in the first place?

There is a big chance that the virus that caused you to perform a system recovery, is on the CD, with your pictures. When you put your CD, in your tray, I would suggest if you don't get an instant virus, that you scan the CD, with your antivirus before you start to reinstall your pictures.

If they are pictures you took, you have nothing to worry about. If they are pictures from the internet, then scan them with a virus scanner before downloading them onto the computer.

go ahead and put them on your now recovered computer. no viruses should be on the disc. Thats why they give u the option to save docments on a disc before because the problem/virus on your computer was not based on your documents..

I'd reccomend using a public computer somwhere, and transfering the pictures form there on to another disk. The pictures are not very likely to be infected though anyway.

Don't take my word for it though. Ask a proffesional.

Suggest you run an Anti-Virus check on whatever media you have them on. That should clear your problem simply enough

Images such as jpg or bmp are just data files that do not ever execute so it is safe to copy them back to your pc. You need to make sure that is all you are copying back though. Do not copy back anything that is executable because those files can contain a virus.

I strongly doubt it. JPG files are rarely infected. If they are you can always redo the system recovery.Whats gone will be the same either way.
