So many times I've seen women who scoff because a man opens her door or pulls out her chair. The little things that us southern women LOVE for a man to do for us other women HATE. I don't get what their trip is. Just because he isn't all over you like a fly on horse poop doesn't mean he isn't attracted to you. It means he respects you. He wants to get to know you for who you are not the body you were given. Why get mad because a man (or butch woman) treats you the way women should be treated. It's not that they feel you are unable to take care of yourself or you're less superior. It means he wants you to see how things should be. Just because you work with jerks don't mean your man should be one. It's just sad cuz the women that do this are ruining what's left of the good men. What's your thoughts on this?

In example... the other day a man hld the door open as I carried my pizza out to my truck on an icy and cold night and followed behind me to my truck and then walked off. I said thank you and he said no problem. The girls in the car next to me were laughing and pointing at the guy. Maybe I just live in a city where manners and being curteous has become nearly obsolete. I help a pregnant woman carry her items to her car and some jerk pulls in the sppot next to her and flings his door open almost hitting her with her hands full. I totally flipped, but he just walked off. Then she said that's why women don't appreciate a-s-sholes and I just laughed and helped her get it in the car and we said goodbye. No reason for it I tell ya.

It's really unfortunate that a lot of ladies out there do not take advantage of the little gentleness that some simple men can give. Nowadays, many ladies believe that "chivalry" is unnecessary or perhaps "dead" because they believe that women now are "liberated."

Nevertheless, there are still a lot of us gentlemen, who will NEVER STOP treating "Ladies" out there with Respect, Gratitude and Tender Loving Care!!!

A woman is the greatest gift that God has given to any man!!!

The story of Adam and Eve will prove it.

Take care! Happy holidays!

I can only speak for myself here. I have been in a long term relationship for 2 yrs now and am engaged. When my and my BF started dating he would do all those things for me. Now that we've been together long its not that important to either of us, he will open the door for other women when out, give his seat up for women on bus/subway, help older people carry groceries etc. I still get flattered when either he or another man opens the door for me, makes me feel like a lady.
I think it says a lot about a mans character, and that if other women can't handle it-lose em.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.
For example - When my child was 3 months old I was trying to get her through the door in Starbucks. A nice man opened the door for me and we were about to move through...when this complete jerk walked right in front of my baby! The man and I were floored. What ever happened to civility?
Any woman who complains when a man or anyone else tries to hold a door for her...is just trying way too hard and loosing it all on the way down.

It sucks that the world is like this. I just broke it off with one of those really nice guys. Not because I didnt like having my door opened for me and such, but because I felt like I would always be the dominant in the relationship. I Need someone tougher then me, not someone that is more sensitive and girly as me.

They scoff? That's crazy! It is amazingly fantasmical when a guy holds the door open for me. It is wonderful. I get bashful when that happens. lol
