I was sitting on the couch and noticed two little worm like things crawling on the back of my couch! I dont see how they could be maggots because my apartment is clean. I dont have anything dead laying around and my house doesn't smell. The only thing I can think of is if one of my kids lost some food down the couch like crumbs but I still dont think that would be enough for maggots? HELP!!!! I'm so grossed out and dont know what to do!

They are really really skinny not fat like I would think a normal maggot would look like.

They do look like maggots. Tear your sofa apart and vacuum every nook and cranny. There is probably some food down there. If they are thin they aren't eating, that is good. It took a fly to lay the eggs.

Don't feel bad, my son when he was young used to hide left over food in his closet in the toy box or in his little suitcase. We had to throw it out when he put a hard boiled egg from Easter in it and I found it a few weeks later P>U> It took a week of smelling the stench to finally find it. I also found a petrified Hot Dog.

Do not make yourself crazy just clean thoroughly. Kids aren't they great?

I'm really sorry. They are. The only time maggots are fat,is when they are full of - -whatever . It could be from a piece of food, fruit,. Maybe someone stepped in doo-doo,and brought them in that way. I don't know what to tell you to do. The only time I had them was outside on the patio, and I poured hot water on them. Inside? Spray them then wash off the surface of you couch with Lysol and water. Actually I would use some club soda, dawn dish soap, vinegar and some water. Good luck, and I'm sorry.

Yes they are maggots. Some are skinny and some are fat. It's just a matter of how old they are and how much they have consumed. Try to locate where they are primarily coming from and bleach really well. The flies that were there prior laid their eggs before they died. You cant see the eggs, so just bleach well. Try to limit the life span of a fly in your home and that should help.

Weather they are maggots or not, they are worms. Most insects start out as eggs to worms to mature. They need moisture and food. Take the vac out and take your couch apart. You might even want to spray the inside after wards.

They could be silk worms, they live on your clothes and such and hatch into moths. We used to have a problem with them when we had hamsters. I think that there were eggs in the hamster food or something.
You are right, it is gross. Check through your cupboards for any more of them , or their shells, or their webs.

I wanna say no........but I can't........they sure are maggots!.....and your evaluation of the kids dropping food (most likely meat) down the couch is most likely correct. It happened in our car when my kids were young....good thing the car was my husbands responsibility....LOL!

looks to be maggots.. ... flies lay eggs and that's what they look like. Not necessarily from a dirty house.... just because flies got and laid the eggs.

Be Blessed!
