Ghana is a nice place to visit (see links for more info), but Gambia is better.

I've been twice for business - I really like it but it is honestly not a terrific tourist place unless you are willing to rough it a bit.
Ghana has great beaches along the coast -- but you need to be careful for currents. Aside from the coast probably the most interesting place for tourists is Kumasi.
They say go to East Africa for animals -- West Africa for culture. The best thing about Ghana are the Ghanaians. They are a relaxed bunch.
If you are in Europe I think flights can be affordable -- from the USA expect to pay upwards of $1200 or more.

COME!!! It's great, though I am biased since I live here. I'm an American and my family and I have lived here for about 4 years now. Wonderful place to visit, lovely beaches, friendly people, democratic government, no war....

Ghana has a lot of nice tourism sites also the people are the most friendly people in the world... Like they say, visit once guaranteed to visit twice...

It's one of the few west African countries that's still in good shape and worth going to. Gabon is another.
People who have been to the worst, dirtiest, most dangerous places on Earth all say "Well, at least I'm not in Nigeria"

I've never been there but I do know a girl who went there last summer and she LOVED it there.
Plus my best friend and her family are from there. It seems like an interesting place to visit.
