I have back in 1994 trees breaking, power outtages, having to huddle up to stay warm, cooking on a gas cooker brought into the house, water scare, and I caught it all on my veido camera. I feel so sorry for those folks out there in Ok..Mo.. and Illinois . At least I can say been there and done that. But I dont want to do that again. I feel for them ..

i am in one now [in ks.] where get off work takes awhile to clean off windshield i have been in alot. once the electric was off almost a week we used out cook stove oven for heat. now we have a ventless one that is safe we use. i use to have a van where the heat didn't work and once a bad one came while i was at work .i had to stop every min. to scrap off ice and once the side window caught it and i couldn't see to pull off. two yrs. ago one was so bad it made trees go all over and my folks were not living in their house in town so we had to hurry in as tree limbs all over one in the rd. i feel for them too i stocked up in case i can't get in tomarrow. i am suppose to be hunting up our oil lamps but this is more fun

I live in Illinois and its not that bad here. No ice, just rain, melted snow and slush. Oklahoma is getting the worst of it I think. Ive been through an icestorm before, but it didnt knock the electricity out, just covered everything in ice.

Been there, done that...and it sux.

Funny note...our driveway was an ice rink for days afterward. When I was able to get out I pulled into the driveway, stopped at the mailbox to get our mail and went to get back in the car - I lifted my right foot to sit down into the car and my left foot went flying out from under me. I had on (rubber soled) clogs so they flew off my feet and went in different directions. Thankfully I had the door to my car open and was able to use the steering wheel to help pull myself up. It took me three tries. I wouldn't be surprised if one of my neighbors wasn't watching me from a window and wetting themself laughing. My poor dog was in the car and upset cuz he didn't know what to do to help me.

Yeah we get them pretty often here too. They really suck! Try driving in one. I've had to do that, but first you have to chisel your way into your car.
