How come i hear nothing about Iraq anymore? Where are all the images of brutality all the death and carnage? Could it be that the surge is actually working? And instead of making the Iraq war an issue of politics, lately the liberal media has decided to make Iraq suddenly a matter of no importance its as if the war doesnt exist. Give the President scrutiny when he deserves it, but give him some credit when he deserves it as well.

BertT, i am not old enough to serve our armed forces. When i am able to i hope to serve. As for your stats i have heard contrary. And if your stats are correct y do i not hear about? You cant deny that the media has covered Iraq with less fervor these last couple months.

Woo Hoo!
Let's give the President some credit. We don't hear about the death and carnage we associate with the Iraq war and we should give the President all the credit.
We'll just look past the idea that we are still in Iraq 5 years later (mission accomplished?) and look past the fact that Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with attacking us on 9/11 and congratulate the president on such a fine job.
The surge is working?
I guess all those people that said we needed more troops from the start if we were going to invade Iraq were wrong. We didn't need more troops. We just needed more time for Halliburton, Bechtel and Blackwater to take our tax money before the American people wake up.
Now we can send in the extra troops as part of the surge and convince our brain dead followers that our "policies" are working.
What's next?
Claiming Iran is trying to get Nuclear weapons while our intelligence agencies confirm they stopped pursuing them 3 years ago.
Good thing we are dealing with such an honest bunch of guys leading us here.
Keep reading that mainstream media and let us know how Paris and Lindsey are doing instead of paying attention to the soldiers that are being killed for no apparent reason in Iraq.
Oh yeah. they are being killed so that we all have our freedoms. Because if they weren't there fighting in Iraq, surely half the population of Iraq would be over here fighting in our streets....right?

Violence has decreased b/c many Sunni neighborhoods in the Shiite region have been ethnically cleansed meaning there are less people to kill. If you believe we should scrutinize the president when things go badly, then let the scrutiny continue b/c you fail to think about the other elements in Iraq besides American troops. Thousands of Iraqis continue to die every week, the Iraqi govt. is still far away from enacting political progress, and our presence in Iraq is still problematic. Even though troop deaths have fallen, this war will not be over for decades maybe even centuries. end of story.

Iraq anyone? Better to ask "New York anyone?". As Americans lust for blood becomes more paramount in their minds, enemies can be found just around the corner from home. After all, what good is your government really doing for the things that matter to the future of the children? Besides getting them deep into debt and a polluted and wasted future.

give Bush some credit you have got to be kidding.
My Dad busted his *** his whole life working as a mechanic.
also serving in the air national guard for over 20 years
he also did 4 years in the Air force Vietnam era.
he retired last year because of his health.
The thanks he just got was a increase in his drugs.
he was paying $3 to $6 for each now he is paying $22.50 each.
the surge is working so well they are sticking it to the retired vets.
Wake up !
some is paying for this war, the retired vets and it ain't right.

What channel are you watching? I don't think youre paying very close attention to reality.
Maybe you would know if the "surge was working" if you were over there as part of that surge you seem so proud of, instead of sitting in your computer room, paying lip service to "Parlor Patriotism".

Yeah, I'm going to give the president some credit just as soon as he gives me a creditable reason for the deaths of our troops, nearly 3,900 of them plus the 31,000 wounded. Maybe he can throw in an explanation as to why the VA can't keep up with the care of our wounded vets.

Well said, I couldn't really add more, however, I think its a sad statement on society when all these Demo's and libs can't admit...once again...they were wrong and to take a lesson from this page in history and learn to shut thier politically orientated but lacking in facts mouths next time something like this rolls around until they find out the details.
Seems we have been repeating this lesson over and over again and the libs / Demo's just don't get it.....except for the few that wise up and change to conservative, its almost not even worth the effort.
