It's a little device that connects to one of your USB jacks on the computer, and lets you plug in several other USB plugs. The one I have here at my desk has one USB cable that goes to the computer, and 4 USB jacks. I have my keyboard, external drive and mouse plugged in, with room for one more device.

Its just a little device that turns one USB input into 4, 5, 6, or however many that specific one can hold. It is useful for computers who have hard to reach USB slots, or who have very few.
