no profile sites are safe unless you dont put personal info such as your last name or address. on my facebook i have my screen name, e-mail and myspace link. plus i make my profile private so that none of my networks see my profile unless im friends with them. i check once in awhile and i delete ppl i dont talk 2 or dont know. i guess facebook is safer thought myspace is mostly full of predators.

It is safer because you can edit your Privacy Settings to if you do or do not want people to see your name using the Search options. In addition, you can choose who you want to add so that they can talk to you on your comment space, also called a wall. If someone is harassing you, you can block and report them also.

There is nothing safe on the internet. You are setting yourself up in a world that sounds like your neighborhood friends but who are anything but. Your mother is right to keep you safe by not allowing you to get involved in these arenas that are predator havens.

yes it is much safer than myspace from almost any way you look at it. You cant "trick" out your facebook so you wont get any viruses from it, you dont get friend requests from random people so theres no wierdos chasing you

myspace is safer i think
and just tell her that you can make it private so no one can see it
and you have to accept all of the people that want to be your friends so its not like you're going to add people you dont know

you choose how safe you can be on the computer by not giving out your phone number, age, last name, address, etc and anyone who sends you a friend request make sure you know them.
