Ideology aganist Communism?

What was the ideology that many presidents believed that stated that all communist governments were evil and should be eradicated called? We learned it in AP U.S History 2 but I can't seem to remember it.

Ok first it is not that any president believed communism is evil. The reason they went after communism to such an extent is because communism helps the masses acquire equality and in a capitalist economy, they didn't this.

The USA capitalistic structure has made a handful of families the most wealthiest in the entire world. They fear a structure of equal pay for equal work.

Oh yea and to answer the question, they used the false propagandized argument that lack of competition hindered progression.
