Because he doesn't honor his country and doesn't deserve to be President.

One doesn't salute the flag unless they are in a military uniform. Hand over heart or standing at attention suffices.
I can't believe the prejudicial and nasty, untruthful tripe being spread across the web about Obama (and other candidates.) I'm not a supporter of Obama for president, but come on people, all of you complain about slanted news stories on TV and newspapers and you're no better than the worst of them.
At least the media doesn't wallow in anonymity when it spreads that tripe.

it is getting to be an rather tiresome old song. Senator Obama does salute the flag. fortuitously, fraudulent emails pretending Barack gained’t say the Pledge or positioned his resign his heart are relatively refuted with the help of a video of Barack doing precisely that on the floor of the U. S. Senate. click on the link to discover the video of Obama on the senate floor best the Pledge of Allegiance along with his resign his heart.

He was listening to the anthem, not saying the pledge of allegiance. There is no tradition of putting one's hand over one heart while listening to the anthem. Nevertheless, Obama has at other times.

"The photograph was taken on September 16, 2007, at Senator Tom Harkin's annual steak fry festivities in Iowa, an important ritual for Democratic presidential hopefuls. Contrary to the e-mails attacking Obama for disrespecting the flag, the candidates were not reciting the pledge of allegiance. They were standing for the national anthem."

"Asked whether Obama normally puts his hand over his heart while listening to the national anthem, Obama spokesman Bill Burton replied by e-mail: "Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. In no way was he making any sort of statement, and any suggestion to the contrary is ridiculous.""

There are surely legitimate reasons to disagree with Obama as a candidate - if you don't like his policies, or think he's too inexperienced. This is not a good reason. (Also, he's not a Muslim; he's a Christian. Just in case you were wondering.)

any lazy old sod can salute a flag and just then smugly go about their worthless lives. actions speak louder than dumb patriotism at least obama is prepared to step up to the plate and actually try to do something for America rather than every time they see a bit of colored cloth give a bit of a salute then do nothing to help the USA. what ever you think of the guy at least he has the balls to try to do something.
don't just bow down to a bit of cloth stand up prove you are a patriot help your country. any fuckwit can salute a flag it takes guts to say i want to improve my country I'll stand for president

I know the story. He was photographed during the national anthem. Hillary and some Governor were standing with their hands over their hearts. You only do that during the pledge of allegiance.
