Meditation in the longer term has been shown to balance the brain hemispheres. Audio technology uses a process of binaural beats to achieve that. I've seen some reports that clearly suggest it will work. I'm sure others would suggest it doesn't.
However, as I've not seen too many adverse effects related to meditation you might like to google for 'binaural technology' - many have samples online.

They actually do work in sync because messages are traded bakc and forth between the two hemispheres constantly, and this is what produces various types of behaviors.
