While any website can potentially host malicious software, sites which allow users to upload content are even more prone to this. The only thing more dangerous are programs that allow users to share directly to each other. The reason for this is because if an online site hears about a malicious file, it will take it off the site. p2p software will keep the file there as long as the initial provider desires.
Veoh allows users to upload files, so like I said, there is an additional level of risk involved, but there are lots of these Web 2.0 sites online, so we, the internet users, must learn to protect ourselves. Currently, the delivery method Veoh uses doesn't have too many known attacks, so it is unlikely that a malicious uploader will get his code through. That said, new exploits and vulnerabilities are found daily, so you must always be wary.
The standard online security kit includes a firewall, an anti-virus program, and one or more anti-malware programs. I use Comodo Personal Firewall, Avira Antivir anti-virus, and Ad-aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and HiJackThis anti-malware programs. The theme here is free: I use free versions of all of those (some only have free versions). The only cost involved is time spent being vigilant (updating, scanning, etc.). With this kit (or something similar), you should be just fine online.
