Lately I have had a want to become a fashion designer. I can take a class at my school in a few years until then. But for now I want to try to make things. In my house we have like 5 functional ones. Only like 2 are used. But all of them are really old :(.

I can't ask for a sewing machine this year but I might next year so for now I need to use the old ones.

Ok well I have no idea how to sew and everytime my mom tries to teach me or I look at a book on sewing I get really frusterated and say "This is stupid" or "I hate this" But I'm a really good learner from teachers or online. So I was wondering if you guys had any tips on what I could do. Or do you know of a site that has stuff to teach me right from the beginning with pictures and simple explanations.

I really need help. I want to make clothes for myself and I want to make clothes that make other girls around me say "I love that shirt! Where did you get it?". I have even have some designes right now in my mind.

I know tellin my mom I hate whatever is rude and disrespectful. I just get frusterated because the things I don't get she says once and moves on then the times I understand fully she says like 50 times and it gets really annoyin and frusturating.

You sound quite young. Saying this is stupid or I hate this, when your Mother is willing to help you, is VERY disrespectful to her. Listen to your Mother and try to learn from her.

When you get to high school, take home economics every year. There you will get the basics in sewing and other necessary things for life.

If you become frustrated easily, sewing is probably NOT for you. Patience is required. It is not inexpensive, so many times you have to take apart and remake your fabrics.

You can keep sketching your designs until you mature some and are willing to learn to sew.

fashion designing is something I like too. I've made a few things, and I guess how I learned to sew (not professionally just a beginner) was watching my sister do it a lot and trying it out for myself and practicing. watch other people do it a lot and practice a lot and try it out for yourself. thats what i did.

You need to try being more patient. Sounds like your mom knows how to sew, why are you not listening to her? Why would you say this is stupid, when you don't know how to do it yourself? Listen to your mom and stop saying I Hate This. Just be quiet and watch and Listen. You will Learn something.
