Man that is a really tough one! The dolphins used to be a really good team! but now there like 12 and 0 now! But i would have to say the patriots because they have newer plays and techniques for offense and defense then the '72 dolphins would... Really good question though!

There is no comparison. Dolphins had a easy medium schedule whereas the Pats have a Division champion schedule. Most folks don't realize that the Fish just got good at the right time, and were actually the underdog in the superbowl that year.

mercury morris said the dolphins would win 24-10 because they have a great defense and unstoppable running game. im a huge dolphins fan but i think the pats would win simply because everyone nowadays is stronger, bigger, and faster than back then. i think almost any team would beat the 72 dolphins nowadays except this years miami dolphins, lol

Fantasy match-up? I'm going with Team A. Steve Nash is back on track right now, after firing Coach Terry Porter, we have seen the obsolete run and gun style of Phoenix, Nash will be dominant once again. He just needs that chemistry. We all saw tonight how good their team is playing if run and gun is implemented. Tony Parker is a point guard. Lebron James is just a beast, there is no way whatsoever of Marion stopping him. Tim Duncan is just having a great season right now. I know everybody is trying to say that Amar'e is better than him in fantasy wise, but just check out their stats right now. Kevin Garnett is a proven leader, but in fantasy wise, Howard is just a beast. Now, I've finished my logic, it's time for the facts. Steve Nash's statistics: * Pts 13.8 * Reb 3.2 * Ast 9.8 Chris Paul's statistics: * Pts 21.3 * Reb 5.3 * Ast 10.8 Chris Paul has more points, rebounds and assists, therefore Chris Paul wins. Tony Parker's statistics: * Pts 20.2 * Reb 2.8 * Ast 6.5 Kobe Bryant statistics: * Pts 27.7 * Reb 5.6 * Ast 5.0 Kobe has more points and rebounds, therefore Kobe wins. Lebron James is just too much for Shawn Marion, enough said. Tim Duncan's statistics: * Pts 20.8 * Reb 10.5 * Ast 3.9 Amar'e Stoudemire statistics: * Pts 21.0 * Reb 8.1 * Ast 2.0 Duncan has more rebounds and assist, therefore Duncan wins. Dwight Howard is just a beast in the paint, Kevin can surpass him if he was still in the Minnesota, but right now, his focus is the playoffs, and rest. So, Team B won 3-2, but haven't you notice something? If you're truly a basketball fan, in fantasy wise Kevin Garnett can beat Dwight Howard because of the turnovers ratio, assists, free throw shooting and three-point shooting. Steve Nash will give you a boost after Coach Terry was fired.

the game is so different (much more complex) and the players have so much more size, speed, and talent now. the 72 dolphins (and most other 70's teams) would be losing teams in today's nfl. pats (or any other playoff team this year) in a big landslide over the greats of yesteryear!

The Patriots. Much more physical, and athletic due to better training regiment and technology. No one on that team could cover Moss, plus the Patriots defense is way too complicated.

Todays Dolphins could beat the '72 Dolphins. The players are much better now.

I'd have to say much to my chagrin the Pats because of the fact that in 35 years the size and strength of the average player has increased drastically. That and they just are a damn fine team. All this from a BEARS fan.

Miami had a solid running game which could control the clock with reasonable passing vs NE with a solid passing game and ok running. I would take Miami who could stop the passing and force the run.
