I was checking out A/V programs to see which suits me the best and I came across this one. I went to the main website and noticed that you have to pay in order to use it. Either every 1 month or 2 months. Anyone that uses it I was wondering what happens if you don't pay it. Would the program still work and detect the viruses? What is the payment for?

I would like to state that I don't mind purchasing software, just don't want to pay for monthly fees.

You will pay a yearly fee for NOD to update with new virus signature definitions, which it will do a couple times a day.

There are approximately 1200 new malware variants released by the "black-hats" each and every day. An anti-virus that won't update is effectively useless.

Not everything in this world is free. Nod32, is a purchase program. If you download for an evaluation, the program will cease to work, upon the end of the evaluation. You will have to purchase the software.

If you want free, here is an excellent free antiviurs that give you auto. updates on the hour, plus has an excellent background scanner that really works 100%.

It's been a little bit since I used NOD32, but as I recall, it just won't let you update the signatures. That, of course, Kills most of the effectiveness of any AV program.

Check out Avira Antivir; www.av-comparatives.org ranked it at the top or near the top in almost all tests.
