in to temptation or put ourselves in places where this was an option?

Thinking we really know ourselves just means we're still a bit cocky because we haven't crashed and burned yet. That's been my experience anyway. I have learned why the Bible doesn't say to overcome temptation. It says to flee: Run you idiot (my paraphrase).

I liked this question for a couple reasons: the main reason is that it recognized a quality that most people don't possess.

Not only does it have to do with not knowing or knowing oneself, but I believe it also has a lot to do with how much a person loves and respects him or herself. When someone has an ample amount of self-esteem ~ not ego, which causes you to be destructive to yourself and others ~ there are a lot of places you won't go, and a lot of things you would never think of doing.

Well to answer your question, personally, I am at the beginning stages of "feeling myself out." I am seeing the depth of my personality come to the surface, and not being afraid of what kind of reaction I will get. I am also, allowing the vastness of my capabilities take root in my soul. I'm no longer afraid of what greatness I can achieve. All I want to do now is live my life, free of limits.

Because of my experiences and who I was born to be, there are certain roads I will never traverse [again ~ as a young person, you try to deny who you are, and consequently end up in places that leave you with your innocence being ripped from your arms].

By the way, your question was not trite at all. Especially, if the person reading it is on a path to self-enlightenment, they will silently thank you for trying to get people to open their eyes to the weight their actions and how it imposes on their on their spritual growth.

Good question. My first reaction was that I am getting to know myself better and better as I get older, but then I realized...

If we only use 12% or so of our brains, how could we truly ever know our entire selves? If there's this huge part of your body that you never use?

To answer your question though, I am getting better aquainted with the 12%.

Interesting. Personally I wonder if I know myself very well, I always surprise myself. I think it's not a matter of knowing, it's a matter of ignorance.
