I'm the opposite. I have an extremely close relationship with my mother, and my husbands mother, but I think that the delivery room is a time to be intimate with your husband (no not sex you perverts). This is a moment that you will share forever and ever, the birth of your child. I've already told both mom's that they can be wherever they want before and after the actual delivery, but during is going to be a special moment for my husband and I. They agree, and think this is a good idea!

I didnt want anyone but my husband there, and the close friend I have who was acting as dula.

However, I labored 43 1/2 hours and by the time I was FINALLY pushing my mother in law walked in. She ended up grabbing a leg and helping- something I wouldnt even have CONSIDERED before that moment.

Honestly, once you're in the heat of it you dont care who's there.

Ifyou're trying to patch things together with your mom and have a good relationship it would certainly be a great starting point. It wouldnt hurt anything for her to be there for you delivery, since you were there for hers.

I would say yes, but if only 1 person is alowed in the delivery room then you shouldn't feel like you have to have her in there because the father of the baby should be there when his baby is born.

I had a very difficult relationship with my mother until my first pregnancy, and during that time we became very close. I wouldn't have gotten through the delivery or the raising of my son without her, although we had a lot of problems during my teenage years, when it came to the crunch (My being pregnant and single) she was there for me all the way.

talk to her tell her you need her help and advice, she will be there for you

I have a close relationship with my mom, and I STILL wouldn't have her in the delivery room. She wasn't in the room at conception, she'll not be in the delivery room, either.

It's really a personal decision. If you don't feel comfortable with her being in there then don't have her in the delivery room during the labor. Many couples prefer it just to be the two of them since it's such a private and special time.
Personally, I wouldn't mind having my mother in there but she is my best friend not just my mother.

Yes, I would.
My mom and I have a really really close relationship and she was their for both of my children's birth. She was my coach through the first (as my husband passed out - he was only 16 at the time) and the second she was a really big help (my husband did not pass out this time, he was my coach). Butshe is my rock and I love her to death.
Have your mom be there it truely is a good bonding time.

I did, only because my boyfriend never showed up. We didn't have a very close relationship before my daughter was born. After the birth we were very close, I think mostly because she helps me out a lot.
