my bro (16) was arrested sunday morning and has been put on bail until feb for placing metal poles on the railway track which made the news and his arrest was in the local paper today
he did not do this and the two guys that did have confessed it was them and said the 5 other boys arrest had nothing to do with this which is true coz they was at mine at the time of the crime will my bro still have to go to court coz of this and will it appear as a crimial record

He will only get a criminal record if he is found guilty of a crime.

If he was at yours, then there should be no evidence against him, and he should be found innocent if he goes to court.

I would be careful about discussing this or asking questions on YA, as you could prejudice the trial.

If the prosecution is convinced that he didn't have anything to do with it, and this other people testify that they did it well he won't go into court, all depends on the prosecutor and the testimonies.

He should know if he gets a summons. Someone has to tell him if he needs to show up, otherwise, if a date is set for him to show up, he better. And with a lawyer if possible.

He should appear in court unless he's told otherwise, but nothing will go on his criminal record. If he's convicted, then the conviction will go on his record.

he is a minor so he has that going for him but I think he needs a lawyer this sounds like it could get nasty.

Get him a lawyer

If he didnt do anything and they have proof that the other kids did it then no, he'll just be free to go.
