I would get them a gift certificate to get massages together, go to the movies, or maybe a nice restaurant.

tickets? Do you have home videos?? You could make a collection of home videos and set them to music or something. I know my parents keep bringing up how they want one of us kids copy our vhs home videos on dvds so they can watch them easier and it could be a real project or you could make it simple.

If you don't have home videos, how about making a slideshow of family pictures and creating a dvd that way? OR!
How about hiring a chef to come over and make them a gourmet meal? (But be sure to give them at least a week's notice so they have time to clean up the house if they want to) :-)

My parents won't spend money on a great cut of meat so sometimes I buy them a nice prime rib roast. If they like lamb you could give them a leg of lamb. If they enjoy seafood buy them lobsters or shrimp.

I recommend you send some of their most treasured photos to http://www.paintyourlife.com and have them turned into unique and quite classical oil, pencil or charcoal paintings or portraits. Everything is done according to your taste and specifications. You can have anything done from those photos, I guarantee. The results are simply breathtaking! Try it out.
