I'd say that to make a paper plane you had to know the shape of a plane. They probably didn't make paper planes, there's no mention of anything like that in kid's toys. Kites, however...

Dunno, but I'd bet "kite". Origami bird, probably not, because even tho there was trade with the East, it was mainly luxuries 'cuz of shipping costs.
