they are pretty standard .. but they do have ide and sata but odds are u need an ide one ..

No there isn't a specific unit they are all pretty much interchangeable. The only differences are speed , bundled software and extra features like light scribe that will burn an image label onto special disks.

A basic DVD burner can be obtained for around $50

No, any internal cd or dvd burner will work with your computer.

nope any drive that is compateble with your version of windows should fit into your computer
