that time tested and truly American way to subvert a government that had become too large at times and is only saved by the forethought of the founding fathers when they gave us the gift of the constitution that has been the best preservation of the public good for 230 years!

ACTUALLY, the LEGAL way to obtain things that were in short supply was through a system of "ration tickets" for things like sugar and gas that were distributed by the government to make sure that everyone their fair share of what they needed when supplies ran low.
