Seriously the man was killing pitt bulls. Yeah it was breaking the law, but come on 23 months! There are drug dealers and aggravated assault felons with extensive records that don't see that much time! Just goes to show how much pull liberal activists have, good thing OJ didn't kill any dobermans!

And for those of you who say its murder, then remember that next time your biting into a juicy burger!

Hey, I'm as liberal as they come and I agree with you. It's the conservatives that love to lock people away and throw away the key. It's insane that a man should loose any freedom over dogs. Dogs are dogs, they're no different from the pigs, chickens and cows that we eat every day. It's disgusting that we've elevated dogs to the point where some people treat them like "family members". Dogs are soulless, dirty animals. This country is becoming prosecutor paradise. Personally, I think there are too many laws, too many people in jail. We live in a country with a government that is intent on prosecuting and jailing people. What a shame!

You might want to check your facts before deciding what's unfair....He was eligible for a sentence of about HALF that time but he screwed himself.

As part of his Plea Deal, he agreed to help investigators gather additional information....He did not.

He changed his story numerous times AFTER agreeing to co-operate with the Feds, rendering what information he did give virtually un-credible.

Although being told he would be subject to drug testing and telling a judge he would stop smoking weed, he failed a drug test a few weeks later.

This is not an issue of race or celebrity justice. This is just another guy who just doesn't get that a man is responsible for his actions....and based on all the people like you who are willing to whine about how bad he has it before knowing any of the facts, is it any wonder why guys like this continue to turn up in society?

23 months is a long time. Think about it in respect to the whole loss Mike has gotten. Money gone, infamy instead of famous sports hero, can't go to McDonalds for almost 2 years. In prison is not good for 23 months or at all. It is sad that he made bad choices but basically he has screwed up his entire life.

Vick got his nearly....actually, you might as well say TWO YEAR prison sentence (add THREE MORE YEARS if he blows his parole afterwards, for a total of FIVE YEARS) for LYING TO THE FED INVESTIGATORS.

Dogfighting / killing pit bulls??? Yeah: it IS a crime--punishable at most w/ a three to six MONTH jail sentence and fines up to $20k!!!

Vick's lies to the Feds cost him his home, fine cars and investments (to pay off his legal fees and stiff fines); his lies to NFL Commissioner Goodell, Falcons owner Art Black and his head coach, Bobby Petrino cost him dearly too: he has to pay back his $28 million salary....and he lost his NFL career.

As for OJ: his deceitful desperate lies and crime committed has him facing 50 years full prison time......

Interesting how you mention these two: their ignorance has dearly cost them both.

His sentence was harsh because he lied and tried to cover up his level of involvement. He also failed a drug test seven days after being told he would have to submit to one. He was testingthe system, and that's one test he failed.

Vick should have received MUCH more time...murder vs. drug dealing...big difference. I realize it is dogs and not humans but it is killing all the same. I think VICK should have received the same fate his poor dogs received...torture and then death by ferocious pit bulls.

I'm not a fan of animal cruelty, but maybe you're on to something here. He has lost millions of dollars on salary and canceled endorsements.. he's paid for his crime
