Most lawyers will give a free consultation either on the phone or in person. Call one and ask.

I think the course of action that Romare is recommending is going to be the most useful one to you. In case you are unfamiliar with the abbreviation ABA, it stands for the American Bar Association. Some other suggestions are: (1) call your State Bar Association (almost every state has one), (2) if there are any law schools in your area, they sometimes have clinics where the law students represent clients from the community under the supervision of their professors at no cost. It's possible that a private lawyer could give you a free consultation, but doubtful (it depends on what your situation is - sometimes personal injury lawyers do this).

Good Luck!

Get another job comes to mind.

I read a book one time that had some really good advice. You may want to check it out.
I can't remember the author's name but the title was,
"How to Live Like a Millionaire".
The first sentnce on the first page of the first chapter read,
First thing you must do is get a Million Dollars!

There are probably some new lawyers out there who could work you in.
I'd just pick up the phone book and start calling.
I think there are some who will not charge unless they deliver the desired results.

Almost every city has a free legal clinic. Call the ABA and ask them for location and phone number.

Look in your phone directory for Legal Aid. Then call and make an appointment. They charge on a sliding scale, if at all.
