WHY do so many AMERICANS justify the use of guns?

I live in Britain. The last time I checked it was illegal for most civilians to have them. Although there are criminals who have them, the murder rates taking into consideration population size are much lower than in America. I just read a question where people were saying that with stricter with gun laws, it would be like Nazi Germany. Without taking into consideration all the lives that it would save.

With no controls on Guns, any madman, teenager, child, criminal can obtain a gun and use it on ANYONE. INNOCENT OR NOT.

There is gun crime where I live, I know several innocent people who have been killed, and that is even with Britain's gun laws. I would be terrified to leave my house if they were legal, I have no idea how anyone could justify the fact that they allow so many ignorant people to walk the streets with a tool to end someones life in a split second.

When everyone has the right to own a gun, those who are looking to cause trouble do not know who has the guns and who doesn't so they are less likely to commit a crime.

Even when you look at the recent shootings the mall atrocity took place in a state where people are allowed to have concealed weapons except when posted. This mall posted a no concealed weapons poster, thats why the gunman chose it.

Most criminals don't even go to a gun shop to get there guns
they get their guns off the black market
Most criminals buy cheap revolvers and pistols because they figure they will dump it anyway and they don't want to waste too much money on a gun.
Criminals are people who disobey the law no matter what ban or control you put on something including guns in general.

Criminals will always have guns and any other weapon available no matter what time period it is or was they always can make,obtain,or sell weapons no matter how strict the laws are or how badly the police want to stop them.
Britain is not a safe country its more dangerous than New York City and Florida is one of the safest place to live in the US even though getting a gun legally here is 100 times easier than New york or California.And let me not forget to mention you can get a CCW at 21 in Florida and most other states too even open carry and those states are safe places to live in compared to Britain or any state that has very strict gun control or a ban.Criminals hate that people can defend themselves in public so they are much more picky and hesitant on who they choose as a victim because they don't know who has a gun and who does not have one.

I oppose any gun control and bans because
1.Its f*****g stupid
2.Its unconstitutional
3.Its inneffective in stopping criminals

It's funny how people never look at facts. I live in the city of Kennesaw, GA. City law says that every head of household must own a gun. This only applies if you live within the city limits. Since this was put into effect over 70% drop in crime. When prisoners were asked if they would rob someone in this city, they said no for fear of being killed by their victim. It is like this in other areas that have the same types of laws and it has been proven that more gun control creates more crime. Would you go after someone if everyone had a gun? For instance in the past VA tech massacre. If someone had a gun on them while that kid was running around murdering people they could have stopped his crime spree instead of him having free reign over that school. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. A firearm is just a tool like any other item can be. When in the right hands it can do good, when in the wrong hands it can do bad. People need to stop blaming guns, an inanimate object that requires someone else for it to be used, and start blaming people. The firearm did not commit the crime of murder, the person did. EDIT: On a more personal note, I have been held at knife point as someone attempted to rob me. Thankfully I had a gun on me and was able to draw it on them after which they ran away keeping my gf and me safe. Who knows if I would still be here if I did not have my gun on me that night. Second Edit: For your additions to your question I will just put it like this. The UK has guns outlawed. How many knife murders are there every day?

Because if there was a law to get rid of guns, do you really think the criminals would stop using guns? No they wouldn't, but the law obiding citizens would, so then the innocent would have no way to defend themselves. For instance in Australia after guns were made illegal deaths due to crime actually went up. And in Switzerland every single man is required by law to uphold a standing militia and have a fully automatic assault rifle and yet Switzerland has the lowest crime rate in the world.

When guns are legal, there is a deterrent. It is no mystery to those of us who appreciate our liberties why Washington DC, with its absolute ban on guns, has the highest crime rate in the country, and why those localities with conceal carry laws have lowest crime rates. And it is no mystery to us why ALL of these mass shootings have all occurred in places where guns are prohibited.

But then again, you guys over there enjoy your serfdom. That's why you still have monarchy. Let those of us who are actually willing to fight for our freedom, who swear by the motto "Live free or die," go in peace. We aren't bothering you.
