Great decision!

Press 1 to hear Tancredo in english
Press 2 to disconnect

I admire politicians who adopt a unique speech, who do not pander, who do not taylor their speech. This means they are true, authentic, non-hypocryts. Only RP and Tancredo seem this way. RP apparently did not taylor his speech at all according to today's NYT, and Tancredo simply did not show up in Miami.
BTW the NYT also mentions that originally most candidates planned NOT to attend...

Tancredo reminds me French leader JM LePen, in the 80s LePen was drawing a lot of boos for asking zero or reverse immigration, he was banned from certain shows, today booers are embarrassed as immigration related riots explode in every city and France is at the edge of being overturned by excessive immigration

The same situation is occuring in America. Tancredo booers don't realize how quiclky the ship America is sinking

Since Tancredo's entire platform can be summed up in three words (Illegal immigration = bad), I think he's probably trying, in his own way, to be consistent.

He's polling in the single digits anyway, and his supporters, for the most part, are rabidly anti-immigration, so it makes sense.

I think it's a little silly, personally. Spanish-speakers are a HUGE portion of Americans, comparatively speaking, and it's just good sense to try to reach them on their own terms. It's good marketing.

Many of the people who watch Univision or Telemundo also speak English (I watch Univision regularly, and I speak English fluently, which should be obvious), but it's a nice gesture on the part of the other Republican candidates to attend this debate.

At least Tancredo is predictable.

I actually admire him for not being a hypocrite. From what I understand, all the other candidates toned down their rabid hatred of anyone who is a little darker and speaks English with a funny accent. Typical politician BS. BUT NOT TOM. He stuck to his guns. He hates Mexicans. He ain't gonna pander to them. And he doesn't care who knows it!

The other candidates feel the same way as Tom, but they're not above some hypocritical pandering when it might suit their purposes.

Yep, I gotta hand it to Tom. He's a shtty human being but he's definitely not a hypocrite...

Why is there a Spanish debate for an American election. Did all the candidates speak Spanish? Tom has a strong stance against illegal immigration and I believe he was standing by his beliefs.

He was probably worried about the interpreter. Furthermore an American debate should never be aired in Spanish.. They didn't even have subtitles if you wanted to watch it. That is wrong!!!!!

He is the only one who did the right thing. Did we have German, polish and Italian debates in the past? No.....I actually like him more.

Who? Maybe he didn't know Spanish.

I don't think anyone should have. It alienates those many who don't speak Spanish because we live in the US.
