We made Chocolate chip last night, tonight it's Peanut butter cookies and tomorrow those yummy Hawaiian wedding cakes. Just making Lot's and Lot's! Fa La La La La La La La La ! (had to sing while I was typing to get the right amount of La's) Lol! ♥

Edit: I got the name wrong fortunately I had the ingredients right.
This is what I called the Hawaiian Wedding Cakes:

MEXICAN WEDDING CAKES (COOKIES)

2 1/2 c. flour
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Soften butter, cream with flour. Blend in sugar. Add nuts. Form balls the size of walnuts. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Yield 4 to 5 dozen.

I think people are always too focused on what the bride and groom want for their wedding. Remember, this is a SOCIAL event and you are having GUESTS. You guys are the HOSTS. Obviously you wouldn't have a religious ceremony if you were atheists, for example, there are definitely personal touches - but I'm not going to pander to the "This is YOUR DAY" mafia and tell you that people won't be disappointed if there isn't cake. Because they will be disappointed. The reality is that people expect wedding cake at weddings. It's a custom. If you forgo it, you look inconsiderate of your guests. Buckle down and get a frigging cake, it doesn't have to be an expensive one, but it does have to be there in some way, shape or form. I realize weddings are expensive but sugar cookies? You can do better than that.

Hawaiian wedding cakes sound good. I don't know what they are but I think I might like them. No, I won't be baking anything this year. I am giving some of my refrigerator pickles to those that I know really like them. In special Christmas jars, of course.

I do need to get started. Not making as much this year though. I have a fabulous sugar cookie recipe that I make just for my mom every year, and caramel corn for my dad. I have a new recipe that I want to try out before Christmas, just to see if it's good. Hot buttered rum! I think I need to do a lot of tasting with that recipe! lol
