It's been nearly eight years since I left high school and haven't kept in touch with anyone since then. I was picked on quite alot at school for being really fat and not all that attractive to be honest - I didn't really look after myself, instead, immersing myself in my studies. It's a completely different story now - I have toughened up, am a very strong individual and have completely changed my appearance to the point that a few people that have seen me since then haven't been able to recognise me

There is a high school reunion next month and I will be seeing all those in my year - I'm really nervous and don't know whether I should be horrible to those same poeple that gave me a hard time in high school - I remember every nasty comment from every individual. Then again, it was a long time ago and I know teenagers can't be real brats - I really don't know how I'm supposed to behave around them when I see them - I definately want to go though, so they can see I've come a long way since then...how would you be?

Good for you! What a great thing to be able to say about yourself, congrats. If I were you I'd want to go too... just to show off a little, lol. Be nice to everyone. It shows how much of a better person you STILL are, plus you don't want to give them a reason to say anything mean about you now either. Don't be nervous, just be happy, polite and enjoy the jealous looks. Have fun!

Your High School class meets every 5 years for a reunion. The members of H.S. class have an evening out. Some bring their spouses, and some go there to look for lost loves. Some go there to look for a spouse, and some are just there to show off their spouse or their accomplishments. Most are a waste of time unless you are into that sort of thing. Plan on going to your 20th year reunion. That might be fun to see how some of the good lookers have aged. You couldn't get me there with a herd of horses. They usually hold them in a restaurant of night club or catering hall at a hotel. About 10% of them are fun the rest are a waste of time and money. Good Luck if you plan to go. I would not.

I went to my ten year high school reunion last august.
I would highly recommend that you go,
I was a total loser in high school, low gpa, limited amount of friends, played no sports.
Only 29 out of 165 showed up, and not one of them that i couldn't stand in high school showed up.
If somebody did show up that i did not like and believe me, THere was a number of them, I would have been like" Oh sorry I don't remember you" Just like that, Even though it would have been a total lie , and then just casually walk off...
Some people looked exactly the same whil others looke way different, THere were people that were once pretty that were like not pretty now, Others looked great.
Everybody seemed cool that i tlaked to. ANd that was about 70% of them.
Unlike high school "you can leave if you don't like it"

Get a good night's sleep and have lot's of fun at the reunion. Everyone would love to see you again.... who knows, that bitter past might finally go away on this day because now you will be having so many sweet memories... me and my family went through alot in life, we always laugh out those sad memories, it takes away the stress all together... Wear something really great, something appropriate to the weather... and just enjoy urself.

Just act like your glad to see them.
If they act nice, continue what you're doing and try to forget those bad teenage years.
If they are still the same mean (I wont use bad language ;))
people as they were in HS, than just say, "ugh, you're still like you were in HS...which isnt a good thing" and walk away. Try to avoid them or ignore them for the rest of the party.
After all, you are the better and more intelligent person.
Good luck, and don't forget, wear you favorite outfit and spend as much time as you need on your hair!

Happy Holidays! o
P.S. And thats really great (in an inspiring way) how you changed so much (in a good way) from when you were in HS!! :)

Those people who made of you at that time didn't know much better. And if you make fun at them at this point in your life, you will be doing the same thing that they did to you. In these type of situations you have to be the bigger person. Show them love and respect them. They will feel bad themselves for what they did to you, and recognise their mistakes which is more valuable than you being a snob to them. Also, their treatment of you, may have help motivate you to take better care of your self;however, I am not reinforcing their negative behaviours as motivational tool. Anyways, have fun.

If I were you I wouldn't worry too much. Firstly I don't think anyone would recognise you. And secondly, you need to show them that you have risen above it all and that their comments and torments have had the opposite effect and that you are a much stronger person now because of it. You need to let your confidence and inner strength shine through, so that everyone can see beyond your outer shell............Hope this helps

wait until a person who was nasty to you walks past with aload of drinks in there hand then trip them up then point and laugh.
just joking.
i think it is different when your younger definitely it just a status thing with young people to be top dog. so to speak
but at the end of the day it don't matter what people say you will probably do what comes natural maybe.
i don't know you to say that but alot of people just do what comes natural.

Ah, if you want to show everyone how far you have come you must treat them as sweet as pie! You should be lovely, clever and gorgeous and that will make them far more jealous and sorry that they were ever mean to you! If you are rude to them they'll just think 'what a cow' and then forget all about you, and that'll make it all worthless.
Good luck - make yourself absolutely perfect for the night!

I would want to be aloof, not cruel, and definitely not too friendly. Just smile and act like you don't care and you came to your reunion to thank your teachers for encouraging you to be a good student and value education, not goofing off. The secret to your VERY successful life. Ho Hum.
If they comment on your changed appearance just say "thank you," and stop there. Don't explain. If they do ask how, just tell them you've always worked hard for what you've wanted and you've always gotten it.
