I have 2 Sail Finned Mollies. one is chasing the other one round the tank. He/she is also doing some sort of dance around the other one. His/hers fins are fully opened and he/she is swimming round the other one. the other one points up towards the top of the tank and seems to bend to the side when this is happening. Also how do you tell the sex of Tiger
Barbs?

The molly behavior could be either of the possibilities already suggested - you'll know which is more likely if you can determine their genders. Males have a modified anal fin (the one on the bottom closest to the tail) - theirs is narrow and pointed, where a female's looks like a normal fin. See these photos: http://www.fbas.co.uk/sexlive.jpg Male molly: http://www.livefish.com.au/images/sailfin_male_molly_sml.jpg Female molly: http://centralpets.com/critter_images/fish/freshwater_fish/FWF_0004592_20030307213954.jpg

Also note that the dorsal (top) fin is usually longer in a male.

For tiger barbs, females are larger and plumper than males of the same age, and males can develop a red coloration on their noses: http://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-TigerBarb.htm

Disregard Kimberly above.
Tell the sex of Mollies by looking at the anal fin. A female has a normal fin and a male has one that is modified into a tube.... to do his thing. If one molly is a girl and one is a boy you know what is going on. That is my suspicion.

To tell the sex of tiger barbs. Males have red tips on their noses and fin edges.

I think your sail fin mollies are "flirting". Watch out for some babies in a mth or so time.
As for the Tiger Barbs, I think it's something to do with the colour of them, one is darker (I think).
Google them on the internet.....you will get the answer there.

they are fighting because they are both males and each is trying to show dominance. i raised them for 7 years they wont kill eachother they just raise there fins and move around thats why they are called sailfin. female tiger barbs have a fin underneath and males have a spear like thing.
