If a 70.3 kg person eats one 40.9 g brownie with nuts, how many minutes would it take for the person to walk off all the calories in the one brownie ? Walking requires energy equal to 2.5 times the basal metabolic rate.

Do NOT consider the energy needed to digest, absorb, and metabolize the snack itself, which the text describes as 10% of the ingested amount of food. Use the total amount of the energy in the one brownie in your calculation.

A person burns approx. 550kcal.

A 40.9g brownie with nuts is approx. 300kcal.

time=(300kcal x 1hour) divided by 550kcal= 33min.
