I have a AsRock 4 core dual sata 2 motherboard. My graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 8600GT PCI-E 512mb. When I first started my computer it started normal, but when it got to the login screen it froze and got reall pixely and crapy. Then nothing happened for awhile then it restarted and it goes in circles like that. I started it in Safe Mode and updated the driver but that did not help.
Thanks.

If your power supply has less than 15 amps on +12V rail, upgrade to one with at least 18 amps.

If power supply is strong try reinstalling driver. Make sure old graphics driver is uninstalled. Then disable all startups. They might be causing a conflict during driver installation. Run msconfig to disable all startups. After successfully installing 8600GT driver, enable startups again in msconfig.

go into the bios. Turn off any kind of video shadow, make sure the primary display is set to your video card, and make sure that the onboard (if there's onboard video) is turned off.

It sounds like it's a bios problem.
