you need to install the drivers. Go to the computer manufactures website and get them there for free.

Speakers? They just pop into the sound card of your PC!
It's gotta be your soundcard then. Go to System > Device Manager > Go to your sound card and see if the driver is installed correctly.
If it's not, go to the manufacturer website and download the new drivers for it.

It looks like you did not install all of the drivers. For PC to work properly you need to install the motherboard chipset drivers and drivers of all other devices like graphics card, printer, etc. The sound card driver usually is usually in the drivers CD that came w/ PC or motherboard.
