How about their hand prints in a concrete paver. We did these for the garden and let all the kids scratch their names in them and then personalize them with a mosaic type assortment of shells colored rocks small change and colored pieces of beach glass, marbles etc.pushed into the concrete as it is drying.Very easy and inexpensive to make.Make a 1x4 (treated) square or rectangle form. Screw the 4 pieces of frame together and then unscrew it after the cement sets.Use a piece of plastic drop cloth under the forms when you are pouring the cement.See link below and if you have any questions email me.

A napkin holder! My son traced his hands onto wood. He cut them out ( with help)and put One hand on each side with a piece of wood in the middle to create an opening for the napkins. He put wood stain and shellac on them. Very cute!

Another cute idea is a recipe/note holder. Cut out the hand and put it on a base. Hot glue an open and closing clothes pin towards the top to hold the recipies. They can put the recipe in the holder and look at it as they cook. I also put notes or pictures in mine when I'm not using it for a recipe!

Take pics of your kids' silouettes, turn them black to draw interest, and frame them with the hands, and maybe footprints at the bottom.
