I have TimeWarner Cable and got the HD Receiver...But I don't wanna pay monthly!?

Is there an alternative? I wanna get my own HD/DVR Receiver cause I don't wanna pay $15 a month for it. Do they sell them at Best Buy, Circuit City...etc...THANKS!

Some co-workers have purchased the new HD Tivo box that accepts a cable card. The rental of the cable card is something like $5/month and plugs into the $299 Tivo box.

But then - you have to subscribe to the Tivo service for the program guide. There are different amounts, but I suspect you are going to pay more than $15/month for the cable card and Tivo service.
