I wish someone would give us a fruitcake, because I love it ... and I'd hide it from my husband (who doesn't like any kind of 'fruit' and only eats the fruit used in fruitcake if I make them in oatmeal cookies with white chocolate and macadamia nuts) and eat it all by myself. Of course everyone KNOWS I love fruitcake, so they must figure I get the BEST, so nobody ever gives us one ... not for well over 12 years now. BUMMER! (I don't buy them ... the really good ones are very expensive, and I would rather spend money on other 'good food' ... this year on Christmas Eve we are having Dungeness Crab, and my husband and I will eat 'only hors d'oeuvres on Christmas day ... he makes the BEST breaded oysters wrapped in bacon, and other such yummy things that we gave up on eating 'dinner' and now just eat the 'goodies' ...

If it is the Bacardi Soaked fruitcake that my aunt makes, I'm eating it along with some of my homemade chocolate rum balls...

i will not be given a fruitcake. i will buy a small high-quality fruitcake and share it with my cat. i love them soaked in rum with plenty of nuts.

In past years, I have given them to the hungry and homeless...I got home very messy and sticky, as they threw them at me. I guess this year, I'll just wait until the guests are gone, and put them in the dumpster...even the Salvation Army won't take them.

I'm not sure if I can say exactly what I'd do with it cause I'd get a violation notice but lets just say I'd return it to the sender (and put it somewhere the sun don't shine).
