Yes, we did it a couple of years ago and it was fascinating. The main market square and Medina are fascinating to visit as well. Its actually very safe to walk around the city, but expect to be confronted with massive crowds of kids looking for charity.

If i had a tip for you:

You can rent a 4x4 from Marrak'ch and go visit the desert: go to Ouarzazate and the neighborhoods, really amazing!! Ask to go in the Atlas Valley, you'll be surpised by the diversity of landscape!!
