aspirin is not metabolized in the liver, but it can be hard on your gastrointestinal tract. One aspirin daily is more than most people should take. If it were released now, it would be a prescription drug. It is a powerful blood thinning agent.
If you are taking it for headaches, use tylenol, you can safely take up to 4,000 mg of tylenol (acetaminophen) in 24 hours. If you are taking it for it's anti-inflammatory properties you are better off using Ibuprofen. Seriously, aspirin should be a prescription drug.

RE:
I feel like I take too much aspirin. How much is too much? Every day?
Are there any herbal remedies anyone can suggest so I can stop the potential assault on my poor liver?

What is the reason you take the aspirin? What dosing?
If the reason you take it is pain, I would consider taking acetaminophen instead. It's much safer than aspirin as long as you don't overdose it. Aspirin intake can lead to gastric ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding ans many other side effects.

Without knowing how much you're taking, I/we can't really answer your question. If you're prone to stomach bleeds, even one a day could be too much, and yes, it's possible to have a bleeding ulcer w/out knowing it. If your poop is blackish, or if you've been diagnosed as anaemic recently and haven't told your GP that you're taking as much aspirin as you are implying here, get yourself to a Gastrointerologist and fast. You could substitute white willow bark (Salix species, thus the name of aspirin--salicylic acid), which is the herbal origin of aspirin in the first place, but again, without knowing exactly what condition you're trying to treat.

my dear, your concerns should be for your liver, your stomach (in which you can develop ulcers) and your breathing (it can cause your blood to become acidotic, leading to hyperventilation).
there is no "remedy" to reverse the amount of aspirin you have taken. however, you should stop taking that aspirin,ASAP.

Why are you taking the ASA and how much do you take? If you want a herbal remedy, you need to tell us what condition it is for.
Most herbs are metabolized through the liver and some can damage it, so choose carefully if you are worried about your liver function.

I have the same problem. I have recently heard that Lavendar oils help migraines and headaches. To place on both sides of your temple and the back of your neck. Haven't tried it yet, but will.
