Yeah, they're going too far. How could that be roughing? The QB was in the play, wasn't he? The QB could've tried to make the tackle, couldn't he? What, is the defense just supposed to stand there and let him make the tackle? I hope that the NFL can make some changes for calls like that.

Proposed rule changes would place the QB in a new location, called the vault. Kind of like a fair catch, no one may impede upon this protected space while the QB either 1) has the ball or 2) does NOT have the ball.

When you have other QB's calling out the protections given to QB's today, that does make you wonder.
I havent seen the controversies in bunches like last year, where it seemed like each week, you had a QB get clocked right as he released the ball, and theres no time for the defensive player to hold up, the flag would be thrown every time.
Its gonna get to the point however, where your gonna have a lot more situations like last year when the one Giants defensive linemen had Vince Young in his grasps, and let go because of a fear of a flag being thrown.

Yes, I'm a Raiders fan and that call sickens me. Seriously. This is why I would watch college football any day over NFL. It's gotten ridiculous. If the rules go any further it's going to be like flag football when it comes to tackling the QB. Get real...this is football not ice skating. You get hit. If you are a QB and can't take that...sorry, time to move on.

That's the $60 million question and answer. Quaterbacks are paid so much money, the team owners don't want to see their investment go down the drain. I've heard the some team owners are so cheap, they don't let the usually "cheap" and disposable front lines really practice because the players might get hurt. Then people wonder why the line can't block during the game.
