Bus drivers have teeth? Not where I come from! But seriously, busses are yellow because that's the most visible color, even at night.

Yellow is a prominent color which is very noticeable under most circumstances. Now that many states require flashing lights and fold out stop signs on school busses safety is much better, The combination should get a driver's attention.
