im not sure about simplifying for #1:
3+ or - the square root of -47 over 2
#2: -55, and 57

LOL
but here are the answers anyway:
1.
(x - 3/2)² - 9/4 - 56/4 = 0
(x - 3/2)² = 65/4
x = (3±√65)/2
2.
multiply by -1 to make it look better
x² - 2x - 27 = 0
(x - 1)² - 1 - 27 = 0
x = 1±√28
EDIT
both your answers are wrong, 1. you should have noticed because you cannot square root a negative number without using complex numbers which I doubt you have done if you can't complete the square
