I go with the following from both categories:

1)character, virtue, discipline, strong, self-reliance, individual responsibility, backbone, standards, competition, earn, hard work, enterprise, freedom, human nature, traditional, common sense

2)social forces, social responsibility, free expression, human rights, equal rights, concern, care, help, health, safety, nutrition, basic human dignity, diversity, ecology, ecosystem, biodiversity

I'm registered independent; Libertarian in my views as I am socially liberal and fiscally conservative (smaller gov't, balanced budget/spending).

Add social justice, a term MLK Jr often used, on number 2 and "state-rights" on number 1. Also, I don't think freedom belongs with number 1.

Freedom on social issues are the most important freedoms of all. Free speech, equal rights, human rights, civil rights, etc, etc. Liberals are the ones that are live and let live on social issues.

And let's not forget tolerance for number 2. I once saw a right-wing muslim fundie group calling for executing a teacher based on their traditional interpretation of the Koran with a banner that read, "No tolerance. Execute the teacher."

Neither 1) or 2) but I would take a mix of both... I am more liberal than conservative.

I'm a big fan of rot, decay, oppression and pollution. So I guess I'm a mix of liberal and conservative.

LOL...I like your question. There are words in both groups that I can relate to...but neither can I say define my personality specifically.

I guess i'm either a Liberal Conservative or a Conservative Liberal....lol

I would have to pick a few words from both groups, to accurately represent me. But if i have to pick a label I guess I am closer to being a liberal.

Yes.
No.1 is conservative.
Add Hand-outs, Welfare, and Hate America to No.2----and that would be Liberal.
