I highly recommend that you start by seeing a therapist. It's very likely that your fears are/will be the biggest problem in getting a job.
I'd also recommend that you check with your local governmental assistance office. Very often, they have job training that they can offer you for low-to-no cost. They'll help you learn how to do a particular job, and then help you find a job in the area that you've been trained in. It's very much in the taxpayers' best interest to help you get a job now, so that you don't need to be on welfare later, so please take advantage of the opportunities that are offered.

You graduated from high school with what? Did you get good grades? How long ago did you graduate? The longer you put off looking for work the harder it gets for you. Get out there and pick up some job application forms. All companies with vacancies will have these forms. Compose a good C.V stating what you've achieved in high school, and state your strengths. But get real. You're not going to walk into a top job are you. What's wrong with working in a restaurant or stacking shelves. You have to start somewhere and most of us start at the bottom. How far up the ladder you go depends on how hard you want to work to prove yourself. If you're a good worker and seem ambitious it will not go unnoticed. Let your employer know you wish to go further. Some of the most successful business men started as the Saturday Boy! If you really want a job there's one out there for you. Good luck!

If you graduate from highschool, then you have a job skill. Part of keeping a job is getting up early and work on a schedule, just like going to school. In school, you learn what you need to do to pass a class...at work you learn what you need to do to get paid.
As long as you're willing to learn and not demanding about hours and pay, you can do any job you want. Why do you think many business want someone who at least graduated highschool? That's why.

Find out what is your best interest and in which area of profession you want to govern your career. Basically think about the goals of your life. Number one helping factor for the job is education and if you go to college and do a part time job it will be the best bet. In that way your experience will count after you complete you education. And FAFSA helps a lot for paying off the education. Craigslist is fairly nice search area finding a suitable jobs. Good Luck

Is this a phobia, perhaps? An irrational fear of some kind? What exactly bothers you about getting a job? Are you afraid of getting yelled at by a boss? Afraid of social interactions with other workers? Afraid of getting fired? What is it? Maybe you should talk to a professional, or find a job placement service that could match you to what you might be good at doing.

Trevor, find out why you are scared to get a job. Is it being scared to leave the house or scared of an interview?
If your scared to leave the house you may be having problems with social anxiety and/or agoraphobia. if that is the reason you need a therapist.
If it is interviewing you need a coach and can find assistance at the EDD office nearest you.
if you feel more comfortable working outside apply for laborer at construction sites, landscaping businesses and things like that. You can get a list of jobs that do not require any experience at the local EDD office as well.
good luck to you.

You have to start SOMEWHERE! Perhaps you can apply at a department store. This is the Christmas season and people are needed for seasonal work. This would give you some experience for later and who knows..maybe you could stay on after the holidays. Do a good job.

Ask your parents for money for community college, or trade school. Or even save up for trade school. Its relatively cheap, and they usually help with job placement with trade school.
You are bound to have to do a job that you hate to move up in the world. Everyone does it, just suck it up and do it till you are in a good posistion to move up
