memories you have as a child of Christmas?

All the gifts! My grandma always decorated an entire village underneath our Christmas tree so all my presents would be downstairs in the family room - on chairs, on couches and on the floor. I'm an only child and yes they bought me a lot. I used to love it - it was so much fun walking down there and being amazed seeing everything.

I already mentioned this but- every year my Dad would take me out on Christmas eve to buy my Mom's present, just the two of us. I looked forward to the special time every year and still do it on my own just to have awhile to myself and think of him.
That and the giant box of fancy chocolates and goodies we would get every year from family in Ohio (we live in CA). We could never have any until Christmas eve!

Hot milk with vanilla extract... dad used to make every morning...Or the road trip to see grandparents,,, or snowball fights, and snow skiing. Those were the days.

Dec. 1 when we'd get our tree, and then in the days of school when we'd go to our Grandma's and find some random hills to sled on with her.
