No one can own the moon. The big "space race" nations all signed a treaty about not militarizing space, claiming the moon as territory, and other items. But I am sure that one day, each country that is space-capable will have some sort of land or territory on the moon. But that will decided when that time comes. And it will probably be divided either equally, or by need or money. I'm sure some global organization governing the use of space will eventually come along to divy all of this up and collect on that.

I do, but since I have not figured out how to get there and back reliably and safely, I never visit. Also, I am not stingy so I allow anyone who wants to visit the opportunity to go. All I ask is that you keep the place clean. The last time someone was up there, they left a bunch of junk, which will have to be cleaned up at some point. So if you want to visit all you need is to supply your own vehicle. You are granted permission to go.

By the way, ownership is an illusion. You only truly "own" things which you can defend. If someone takes it, and is powerful enough to keep it, can you really say it's yours?

Nobody. Just like nobody owns Antarctica.

Along with the treaties that are in place, the precedent was set by Apollo astronauts: "We came in peace for all mankind."

The United States claimed it back in 69, but they let it go back because no one wanted to pay the property taxes. They said it was sky high.

No one owns it legally. But that didn't stop several scam artists/organizations making claims and selling land properties.

It is mine. I have the contracts to prove it. But they're on the moon.
