If he is going to be in school then
just console him and check up on him and how his mom is doing everyday...
Don't freak- a lot of people get it and beat it
Let him know that you are there for him-
if he isn't in school you can't do much until
he comes back.
just make sure you check up on him-
he told you for a reason
whether it be he trusted you or just needed to tell someone...

He trusts you. My mom is a breast cancer survivor. The only thing you can do is let him know that you are there for him if he needs anything. Just be a friend and listen when he needs to talk. The one thing you CANNOT do is tell anyone else. Good luck and I hope all goes well.

Tell your parents about it, and go to the hospital with him, perhaps he just didn't want the sympathy from everyone and thought you were the best person to talk to about it, feel honored that he trusted you with personal information, and be a good friend and show up to support him. take him for coffee or a coke while the surgery is in progress and be there to talk when it's over. Just treat him normal but just be there. good luck

be supportive of him. don't spread rumors or tell anyone else. he could have told everyone, but he only told you. that should make you feel special. and, the surgery can be highly successful with no recurrence. think positive thoughts for him, and for his mom, and just be there for him.

Just be his friend. Tell him you'll be thinking of his mom and praying for her (if you are so inclined) and that's it. Don't tell anyone else- it isn't anyone else's business. Just be a good friend, that's all you can do.
