Why do people hate the police?

I like them. I've never had any trouble with them. If you haven't done anything illegal, you got nothing to be scared. So are the only people who hate them criminals? seems logical.

When the police do their job, someone is going to find fault with how they do it. But if they did the job the way MANY civilians want them to, there'd be chaos. It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't. Here, a cop shot a young man who aimed a gun at him. His mom screamed IT WAS MURDER, MY BOY WAS A GOOD BOY. Yeah, right....good boys point guns at cops. A 30+ year old man ran from the cops on his crotch rocket exceeding 100mph, crashed his bike and was killed. Mom said, "THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO CHASE HIM. SOMEONE IS GOING TO PAY!" Yeah, sure, and what of the lives that nimrod put in danger because he ran from the cops. Oh, that man had some DUI's, speeding tickets, no registration/insurance tickets, etc etc etc.
Hate the cops, those of you bad mouth them, but don't expect them to come to YOUR aid. wa wa wa

I don't hate them per se, but I do not respect them, simply for what I saw as a child. There were many instances were I witnessed them bullying other people. In particular was once when my neighbor (a woman) was beaten up and thrown from her own house by her boyfriend. The police came and all she wanted to do was get her papers and belongings, and they were yelling in her face that she needed to calm down (she was not hysterical) and refused to do anything about the man. I started losing respect after that. So far, I have not seen any better examples that boost my opinion, but I am sure there are many good men and women out there..just not that I have seen.

they don't investigate very terrible crimes because of prejudice
they put wealthy people's cases in front of poor people
they really don't care about helping the minority.

its a lot easier for them to put away a black man than a white man.

they do good, but the system is very messed up and they aren't always fair.

No! I don't have a problem with "Most" of them. We have some good cops and some bad cops! I think it's just the reason a lot of people don't like them is because some police officers take their power to the head and are arrogant and rude!!!! But not all are! There are good ones out there that are like you said as long as you are not doing anything wrong and as long as you are nice to them! If they pull you over you can't get an attitude with them and expect them to be nice to you!! =0)

Some day as you are minding your own business you will be approached by the police and your life will change for the worse and all of your questions will be answered. I hate the police. they are lazy shiftless bullies. Want good drugs? find a cop they usually will sell what they confiscated. Where I live they grow there own for sale. Once a year they cross the state line for there annual party. Lawless things happen there. Yes you live in a world of delusion if you think you can depend on a cop to tell the truth when it matters for you.

Because a lot of them are racist, atleast where i live. The other day a group of friends and i went to a University Fair, and i had an arab friend who wore a turban and the long robe thing (don't know why), and 2 cops were laughing at him. I felt bad.

Let's face it, Police are going to always be human, regardless of the badge. Adrenaline runs through them just as ours do, and some time's this will cloud there judgment and cause harm to a criminal and that's were the hatred of there families start. They all of sudden forget that those things might not have happen to their families if they were not doing something wrong. In this world there will always be hate groups. What are you going to do?

And some like a neighbor I had when I lived in Kansas City, are leary of them and do not get around them. He had so many different types of tickets outstanding and if the Police were around you did not see him. So some are like that. I respect them and am very proud that I have two nephews who are Deputy Sheriff's.

I don't hate the police. I respect the police. I've had tickets and I've never been mistreated. Sometimes, I think they're a little cocky, but I think the only people who hate them are the people breaking the law and not taking responsibility for their own actions.
