Voo Doo is very real and the magick is potent. I don't think they knew how bad Katrina would be , or the affect it would have on the city. Perhaps they actually do try to work on Katrina. After all, do you not recall that the city got very little damage from Katrina its self? It was the the levees breaking, a man made disaster that devastated New Orleans.

Why would someone answer this question with I don't know? ::: sigh::: Annoying!

Voodoo is not limited to the quarter, voodoo was practiced heavily in the wards as well. Those were virtually eradicated.

Mother Nature caused the floods but due to the fact that New Orleans wasn't prepared, it was worse then it had to be.

It wasn't karma related. If it was then the bars (French Quarter) where all the supposed 'sin' was going on, would have gotten flooded and that's where a lot of people where able to find safety.

Voodoo isn't evil and it works along with the energies of the Divine so therefore it couldn't go against Mother Nature.

Also, people confuse Voodoo for being black magic, it isn't.

Sometimes bad things happen to bring light to injustice and poverty. Everyone knows what's going on there now.

New Orleans didn't "deserve" to get ruined by Katrina because of voodoo. I live in New Orleans, never practiced voodoo and still lost everything. Did I deserve that?
Katrina was because of mother nature. Nothing is more powerful than that. Especially not voodoo.

Katrina was a earthly disaster Voodoo, God, Satan, Bush, the democrates, the senate, the man with the time machine, none of them would stop it. Maybe they could but they won't.

I went shopping at Tater Reds(a voodoo store in Memphis) to obtain a potion to get rid of this girl that sat in front of me in an art history class. The potion was called "***** be gone" and you had to drip it onto the person you wanted gone- i did it twice during class before she dropped out. so yeah i beleive in it.

the gods and goddess have to have some ways of punishing for the bad karma. but if you look back at the damage done with Katrina. most of the french quarter was almost untouched. many practice-rs live in that area.
