(ok, first of all I asked this yesterday, but it got deleted because apparently YA didn't think it was really a question...even though I had 16 answers in 5 minutes!)

Guiliani tried to BS his way through an interview on the security costs of his detail while seeing his mistress, did you buy the explanation??

( I seriously cannot understand why this guy is getting ANY numbers in the Republican polls at all!! He was a horrible mayor, and if it hadn't been for 911, he would have slunk out of office.) Your thoughts?

No, I don't buy any of it.

First of all, it was Giuliani, not the NYPD, that would order police protection for his mistress. Trying to blame it on the NYPD is a new low for him.

Secondly, hiding the costs ($450,000) in the loft board expenses, etc., again would be at the direction of Giuliani and not the NYPD.

Giuliani blaming all his woes on the NYPD is as bad as Bush feeding terrible intel to the CIA, forcing them to use it, then blaming the CIA for using it.

he gets his great polling numbers primarily from blue states where he cant win against a democratic candidate and being his platform is very close to or the same as theirs -
But no I dont think the majority of americans are falling for it being that first place in the polls seems to be changing daily between GOP candidates-it went from mccain-to giuliani- to thompson -to romney to huckabee - the GOP is on its last leg with huckabee but he still wont beat Paul in popular votes being he is the only honest candidate out of the bunch

I think his numbers are due to name recognition only. As people on the right learn how liberal he really is, he will continue to sink like a rock. I can't imagine he is still in the race after several states have their primaries. After several low showing, his fund raising machine will begin to grind to a halt.

Unfortunately it is the masses that are blind and I believe politicians know this. Most do not spend the time watching interviews or reading what these wannabe leaders actually are saying. He was tripping all over himself, but he usually does that. But what most people hear is, " vote for me or the Muslims will kill you next."

do hillary's?

(i'm a registered dem....just sayin') hehehe.

it's all bullsh*t.

as far as 'a horrible mayor,' dunno. crime went down in that city in a way that was comparable to teddy roosevelt's days. it was really 'night and day.' dinkins left NYC a MESS.....rudy changed alot of that. (c'mon...even robert scheer acknowledges that he did a good enough job as mayor...at least in that regard! )

to your initial premise, though...i agree 100%

to your implication that the democrats are 'more honest,' i'd like to know where you're buying your crack from. (i hear it carries a higher offense now! ) lol
