Never, ever started.
Grew up with a smoker. I think it is a filthy, dirty habit.
Butts thrown all over the ground, people tossing them out their car because even the smokers don't want that crap in their car.
Just look down sometime, especially when it's wet out...there are these gross, disgusting butts everywhere. We went to Florida last year, to a beautiful beach, or so I thought until I looked down, yepper, butts every freaking where. Stop using my world as an ashtray.
Plus people who smoke may think they don't smell, but they do.

Still smoking like a chimney. Tried quitting but lets say I was miserable and a totally impossible person to be around to the point where those who wanted me to quit started giving them to me. Here.......smoke is better than the B.... you turn into. LOL

I have lung problems but the Dr. said they are not as a result from smoking, as much as it pained him to say that. I had them before I ever smoked. The price is a strain but otherwise in all honesty....I don't want to quit. It's not like any of us are going to get out of here alive anyway.

Quit nearly three years ago. I only smoked maybe 1-5 a day my last year, never inside and never during my four pregnancies. I was determined to totally quit a year or more before my knee surgery, and did. Thank goodness.

I smoked for over 20 years, quit for 7 years and now I smoke occasionally, but never inside my house.

Started about 40 years ago while in the service and still smoke but find I waste more especially when I'm here on the Y!A answering questions.

Remember when they used to sell for about $4 a carton in the PX now the cheapest are about $28.

Quit the day I found out I was pregnant with my first child 36 years ago. I was 16 and had only been smoking 2 years-looking back I don't think I ever inhaled-Honestly!

Both my parents smoked, especially my dad who was up to 3 packs a day at one point. When he went in for open heart surgery and was put into an oxygen tent, he quit..... My mom mostly smoked when she was at a party..... or maybe after sex... dunno, it always seemed like the thing to do back then.

So, since I grew up thinking that was the thing to do when I grew up, I started smoking in the Air Force. I found "other' things to smoke when I was stationed in Thailand and decided I couldn't smoke both, so I quit cigarettes. After a while, I gave up the other, too.

Every once in a while, I'll smoke a cigar just for the fun of it. But outside, of course.

I quit at the end of January, and most of the time I really do feel better. I smoked for 50+ years and with help from my M.D., I quit in one week with a new med called Chantix.

As for saving the money, I wouldn't know. We have three needy middle-aged offspring between us and neither of us has seen any savings!

Cold turkey 13 years and one month ago, after having smoked for 25 years. Have not had even a drag since then. Other than asking my wonderful wife to marry me, that was the smartest decision I ever made. Breathing and hiking are now so much easier!

I smoked for about 5 years and quit 3 years ago. It took me 7 tries before I finally quit for good. I finally realized that you can't sneak one here and there after "quitting." It doesn't work. You just have to tough it out.
