she emailed me from my ad in craigslist. the email seems odd because it was in ALL CAPS and some words were misspelled. so i'm thinking i get her to call me and we talk, and hopefully i convince her to not pay with paypal.

Sounds dodgy to me - why would anyone offer more than the advertised price? It just sounds really suss.Don't give her any personal details.

Just withhold shipping it until the payment clears. There was a time when people were getting scammed this way, and I heard rumor that people would get your email account (for paypal) and then send bogus transactions.

Just verify you can get the money out before you send the laptop and explain to her that there will be a delay if you accept paypal payment.

She isn't going to send you any money.

She's going to send you a very slick looking, but FAKE email that claims to be from Paypal and it will say that due to security reasons, they cannot release the money to you until you provide proof of shipment.

This is not how Paypal works. This is how a crook works. They want you to send them the laptop for FREE. The address is quite frequently in Nigeria, but any scenario that reeks of these emails is a scam.

while you're jealous, meaning you have some insecurities. Any chick with any volume of brains is going to run from that. no one needs a jealous guy, looking over their back, no longer permitting them to do something. Jealousy is a advise beast. It breaks rather some human beings up. you may want a female pal that wears a paper bag over her head in public, so no you may nonetheless tell who she is.

Why would anyone pay more than you asked?

Yes, it seems like a scam.

There is one generally rule when selling items on Craigslist. Deal locally only!!!
